Aztec Language

Mexico city officials have planned to make it a requirement in the Mexico City schools that studnets mustr take courses in the ancient Aztec language of Nahuatl. This is seen as a step in insuring that this language is not last from lack of speakers. This is an important step on the officials part becaues it shows the people that this is an important part of their culture, and it will help to ensure that the language is not lost.

Recently Hugo Chavez has taken control over alot of the oil fields of Venezuela. According to BBC it also seems that he placed a huge tax on the companies who are working in the region. Without the comapnies support will Venezuela be able to continue to make a large profit off of their oil?

It seems interesting that the police in Russia broke up the demonstration that took place in Russia last week. Is Russia truly a open society? Does the Russian government truly encourage people to exercise their rights to protest the government?
